.................................................... Take a proffessional sportsman from Yougoslavia, a music addict x-punk/hippy from London, mix well= me. From my footballer Dad, I herited the love of sport and the body in gracious mouvement, brilliant memories of my childhood, when my Dad's team mates where Zidane, Dugarry, Lizzarazu. Had I not broken my leg the day before the final of the french accrosport championships, my life could have taken A completly different path. Seeking refuge from another break-up that of family and divorce, I searched for another balancing act to fill my life with and replace the daily gymnastics training- and I found it: balancing the needle on the vynil From my mad Mum i inherited an entire musical universe from Hendrix to Sample, with all the best 80's punk, rock, ska,soul and 70's funk, blues and basically the whole 9 yards; Music was indispensible for daily Life, No Life without Music. I can thank Mum too for some great memories, like my first rave, at 13 on a cliffside in Bal very Goa trance. It was just natural to start playing on the decks at home and in public very early (and a material necessity) Mum used to play in underground and private parties and used to take me along. So at the thender age of fiftheen, I had my 1st residence at the Wax in Bastille where I had a monthly slot that I didn't let go of for three years. The sound I was playing back then tended to be more towards House- deep Garage, dappled with a little Detroit, but gradually I slipped towards weirder influences such as Ricardo Villalobos, Ritchie Hawtins, Marc Houle or again Hugg and Pepp, but I must say that the places and clubs that I played at then where not really appropriate I took a residence at the Bains douches and the residence at the Gibus Paris where I got the opportunity to play alongside singers such as Barbara Tucker, Julie Mcnight, Lisa Milet, Kathy Brown, after winning an FG radio dj competition. I was resident at the Lala land after at the Redlight in Paris and some Ciroloco events ( with Tania Vulcano, Jose de Divina...) or again the "Scream" afters ( with Fafa Monteco, Fex, Jean Cedric,Marysol) where it was easier and more interesting for me to play my style, that I would call minimal deep flowing sometimes into a harder tekno, but always keeping the melody, always groovy and funky at the same time, a sound that is decidedly more after and underground orientated than the places I was invited to play in. ........................................................... ..................................................... A lot of things have happened over the past two years. At the end of 2003, I became a resident at Folies Pigalle Paris where I play alongside of such great dj's as among others, David Moreno, Charles Shilling, Eric Powa, Sin Plomo and Gee Moore.... It works and the turn table get worked to a fenzy. I'm asked to organize parties and afters allowing me freedom to pick my guests in "Paris" club scene was not really what we could call "minimalist"scene at least you could say that it was difficult to find really good nights, with good dj's and cool place, the party people and Ibiza vibe: minimal tek music i s not easy in all clubs and is not accessible for all crowds. So I said to myself it would be a good oportunity to invite dj's from that musical universe and that had not yet come to France: Locodice, Timo Maas, Jose de Divina, Phonique.. It was different, new, the clientele look to it and I stayed at Folies for about two and half years. I still mix there but as a guest!! I really wanted to start working on the production side and made an error of judgement, I signed a contract at the terms of which had to be respected even if I wasn't that happy with the result, and more importantly, losing control over a lot of aspects of my work and portaryal. So I had to respect the promotional side of the single which kept me busy for a time and its release: Ladies light ( with production at sony BMG) was a success going straight into the club hits at 21°. A very commerial house track, featuring vocal by Ange, the corresponding video got a lot of airplay on M6 music,MCM,MTV, all this along with a promoting tour thoughout France. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: I can say that my first single did well, but I didn't reflect the style of music that I play. September 2004, returning from Ibiza (after playing at the full moon, El ayoun, la Diosa "Zhénith". I started my radio show on Fun radio, every saturday night from 23 to 1 am, "club station", where the show got the top national ranking spot for house radio broadcast thoughout France and Belgium, was also the 1st girl mixing on French national radio. The program lasted for a year with audience ratings increasing by 20%. To end the year in style, mixing in St Bart and it goes 2005.... Playing all over France, but also in Morocco (weeky show on 2M TV), Italy, Portugal, Lithuania, Ibiza, where I mixed on Global radio" for Andy Wilson, and mixed with Dan Ghenacia and End August in China Shanghai for Ibiza Voice................................................ .......................................... Today I' m 23 years old a new tune. I m working under a new alias Karmina_ sort of turning a page, making a new begining: The year kicked off with the new year party at Escape Amsterdam and flying the 1st to Rome at the Goa after party and a back to back with Mathew Jonson .:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: .:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:. :.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.: fantastic gigs in Milan,Italy,like the "Elita festival" , with Luciano, Dinky, 2 many djs, Nathan Fake, James Holden,Moodyman...or also the club "Plastic",unforgettable!!! summer for my birthday,22 august, at After "Day OFF" @ Space , Ibiza, and add 2 residence at "Underground",this club really desearves his name!!...................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I'm also working on my productions which will this time be decidedly more minimal, something I can be proud of, and be closer to me, where I want to go. And this time I'm doing it myself. ....................................................... ...................................... I'm proud to have a record on Opossum Mini Records, with a remix From Mathew Jonson, and another one from Blackwall, "Take this Way" EP , On Fullscale Music and really soon EP on "Aparillo" While devoting a lot of time and work to making music, I still carry on mixing all over the world, sharing the vibe, and the tickety- tickety tack...
