Bastian Bux - Oracle EP Review

Spain's Bastian Bux has made quite a name for himself in recent time. In a relatively short period, the Elrow resident based in Barcelona has witnessed an impressive rise that has left distinct impressions, gaining remarkable recognition. Such recognition has seen him grapple a foot-hold of Europe, boasting spectacular nights at none other than Space Ibiza.
Above all, his latest and third EP 'Oracle' screams diversity. In an industry so widely recognised for the glitz, glamour and incontinuity, at times sidetracking from what's important, Bastian has carefully concentrated his talents to ensure there are no hidden messages to his work, reinforcing one critical factor; the music. 'Oracle' symbolises Bastian's ability to drive deep, penetrative texture into his work. His release on Suara represents precisely what the label bases it's core findings on, releasing music for all kind of audiences with different, exceptional, risky and introspective sounds. So much so, each track comprises of constantly building mood and feeling, with atmospheric melodies seemingly a consistent feature. Bastian has equipped each track with the capacity to deliver a different message. 'Prinzen' has a raw element of sensitivity, a stripped back approach that allows the track to breathe. This feature is certainly felt in his original mix 'Oracle.' The Elrow resident married perfectly together the adrenaline and pace of the techno feel accompanied with the much needed injection of soothing vocals for progressive vibes of 'Linna feat. Anon (Original).' Bastian further demonstrates a capability across sub-genres with powerful acid waves in the 'Coyu “90s” Remix.' One priceless asset is Bastian's knowledge to let the hype and excitement do the talking, whilst focusing on what he does best. He continues to gain support in abundance from global stars such as Adam Beyer, Loco & Jam, Lane 8, Hollen, Los Suruba & Adrian Hour. With an excitement and charm so vital to any DJ's makeup, Bastian remains grounded and quietly confident for what the future has in store.
